Gymnastics movements are often the most frustrating parts of the workouts that we program. Done right, they require a tremendous amount of strength, balance, coordination, and stability. That's why we're excited to introduce our 2025 Gymnastics Course! Participants will learn to perform various movements and skills (eg. pushup, handstand push-up, pull-up, muscle-up etc) by practising and developing mechanically sound technique, and working on body positions that enable a greater expression of strength.
Increased body awareness and better positioning
It's essential to develop the ability to simultaneously move your body freely, and with maximum control. This means that learning to execute a strict pull-up, correctly kip or hold a handstand - is essential before even thinking about attempting a kipping pull-up, muscle-up or handstand push-up.
Accessory and skill work that directly translates to strength gains and long-term health
We often say that without the appropriate strength to do strict movements, we shouldn't be attempting advanced kipping movements. Instead, it's a much better idea to work on improving back and shoulder strength. Not only does this increase strength for gymnastics gains - but we're staying healthier and happier in the long run.
Fine tuning skills that increase speed and efficiency in workouts
You've probably heard us say slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Moving too fast, rushing your reps, only increases the chance of no-reps and other mistakes during a workout which at best, slows you down and negatively impacts your workout overall. Moving carefully and deliberately, mindful of form and technique, helps to reduce the risk of needless errors. The post workout feeling is much more positive!
Is this appropriate for me?
If you want to get better at gymnastics movements and you're willing to put in the work then YES! All strength and/or skill work can be modified to match you level of fitness, mobility and strength. Every workout includes scaling options (modifications) to suit the needs of each individual
